slackQuickstart: Internal Knowledge Agent

Set up an AI knowledge agent for your team in Slack in about 5 minutes

This guide walks you through creating an AI agent your team can ask questions in Slack. Mention @eesel in any channel and get instant answers from your company's documents.

Time: About 5 minutes You'll need: Admin access to your Slack workspace

Step 1: Create your agent

  1. Click Create Agent and select Knowledge Agent

  2. Give your agent a name (e.g., "Team Knowledge Agent" or "Wiki Agent")

Step 2: Connect Slack

  1. In your agent workspace, go to Integrations

  2. Select Slack

  3. Click Connect and authorize eesel AI in your Slack workspace

  4. Choose which channels the agent should be available in

Step 3: Add your knowledge

Train your agent on your internal documentation:

Source
Best for

Confluence

Team wikis and documentation

Notion

Internal knowledge bases

Google Drive

Shared documents and folders

Website

Company intranet or public site

Files

PDFs, docs, and spreadsheets

Add as many sources as you want — the more your agent knows, the better it helps your team.

Step 4: Test it

  1. Go to a Slack channel where the agent is available

  2. Mention @eesel with a question, like: "@eesel what's our PTO policy?"

  3. The agent replies in the thread with an answer from your documentation

Step 5: Fine-tune

  • Adjust instructions to set the right tone for your team

  • Add more knowledge sources if the agent can't answer certain questions

  • Use Analytics to see what your team is asking most

Your internal agent is live! Your team can now get instant answers from company documentation right in Slack.
